Welding cufflinks

When welding is required on parts that must not become hot, such as fasteners with springs,
the PUK is in its element

1. sensitive parts

The mechanics of these cufflinks should only be attached after the stones have been set.

2. preparation

A chamfer is filed onto the base plate of the mechanism so that the weld can penetrate even deeper.

3rd angle

As the material is silver, the electrode is placed at a steep angle next to the base plate of the mechanism.
In this way, the arc presses the material from the mechanism onto the substrate.

4. stapling

Once the two parts have been tack-welded with the first spot weld, the position is checked.
A single spot weld is already so strong that the parts can be carefully bent to the correct angle.

5. silver

Silver is always easier to weld when it is warm.
When the metal has warmed up after
a few welding points, it flows much more evenly.

6. warm, not hot

The temperature of the workpiece in the area of the welding point does not rise above 120°C during normal use – but the silver does not have to be that hot to achieve the best results.

7. serging

After welding with the PUK, only the welding point itself needs to be filed, everything else remains untouched.
